Vibrosoul At Spiral Lounge For CMJ Music Festival
Vibrosoul took the stage at the legendary Spiral Lounge on the Lower East Side of NYC and made a total show of it all. From the first moments you know that this band has the chutzpah and energy to conquer all. We have several concerts with Vibrosoul at Spiral Lounge, but this one was from their CMJ appearance. We could never get the names of the band members but they certainly were a lot of fun. The lead singer was always in the front and never went out of character as he played the crowds and led the music to its finale.
Who Are Vibrosoul
Vibrosoul sound is a unique blend of funk, scat, rap blended with some heavy rock while intermixing syncopated rhythms and riffs with well-placed power chords. The musicians always have a good time on stage and have positive reaction and interaction with the fans. Vibrosouls lead singer, who fed off the audience, flung himself around the stage with the music, delivering some of the vocals from the floor. Vibrosoul is filled with a ton of energy and were a pick for the 1997 CMJ Music Festival.
This was the first year CMJ came to New York City with their music festival and only OnlineTV with Rick Siegel were broadcasting bands live from the event and archiving it all. These concerts are special in that no one else was doing it at the time, first and only videos. The videos from back then are only recently rescured and there are various squeaks and skips as well as this concert was cut off at the end but still has over 35 minutes of prime concert video.
Their CD can be found on various sites.
