Rebecca Hollweg Live At 12 Bar Club Series
This is the first release from my archives of the Rebecca Hollweg 12 Bar Club series, but it is not the first date we have of Rebecca from the 12 Bar Club. Those concerts will follow in the next weeks.
I have watched the early videos and am always amazed at how wonderful and warm Rebecca’s performances are. Her presence on the stage puts the audience at ease and when her incredible voice wafts to the rafters of the Old Forge, 12 Bar Club; you can feel the rooms attention zoom into her show. These shows have the honor to show the formations of Rebecca’s first limited release, “The Demos” – to friends. The various shows allow you to watch and listen as her songs emerge from their chrysalis. Real musical history lost for decades until now.
Shortly after our recordings Rebecca Hollweg released her first album, June Babies, October 2001. June Babies contained melodic pop songs, it featured string arrangements by Chris Bowden and a guest appearance by Jeb Loy Nichols. Critically acclaimed in the British national music press and broadcast live by OnlineTV. Then Rebecca did her own headline tour of the United Kingdom in 2002, and supported The Byrds’ Roger McGuinn on his 2002 UK tour. She also toured the UK in 2003, supporting Paul Carrack of Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics.
We are proud to offer this collection of videos to the public. Bringing great acts to the stage at 12 Bar and broadcasting them around the world was a joy and privilege. Who is Rebecca Hollweg
Rebecca Hollweg is an English singer songwriter from a long lineage of illustrious artists that trace back to Edward Wadsworth and his grandson Alexander Hollweg, her father, with works that can be seen in the Tate Gallery. Her mother Geraldine Hollweg is a silversmith and enameler, who trained as a painter at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford and worked as a scene painter at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Rebecca has so many ties to the arts growing in that nurturing environment the flower that is Rebecca Hollweg was sure to bloom in her time.
She has expanded her career to such heights few can dream of and for me to try to duplicate what is already out there and been said would be a failure on my part.
