Poppy Seed is Angela Harvey who has performed both solo and with live band in UK, USA, as well as South Africa. She has been endorsed by Sade and dub poet Mutabaruka. Poppy Seed has released CD’s like “A Taste”, “Coming Through”‘, and an EP “Four for Now.” Her works encompass Reggae Classics, Ska Dancehall, Ragga Dub Roots, and often romantic rock. She is often compared to Sade, Eryka Badu, and Gil Scot,
Her style of poetry is well crafted and with the music embracing Afro Roots, Reggae, and Jazz, tenors. Described as being On the Cusp of Poetry and Song, Poppy Seed is a poet extraordinaire and this London UK poet eludes to the symbol of the Poppy Seed as having maximum potential for growth. As a poet/ song/playwright she has a book “Poetry for Phases, Stages & Pages” which is a full scale stage Musical she called “Same Differences“. She has also completed various film scripts, two albums; ‘A Taste’, ‘Coming Through, and an EP ‘Four For Now’, which discribes her times in beloved South Africa where she has worked extensively.
