Pave The Rocket Live At Acme Underground for CMJ Music Festival
Pave The Rocket playing their first CMJ gig in NYC famous Spiral Lounge for the OnlineTV.com video broadcasts. Heading in from St. Louis, MO. the band hypnotized the audience with brother and sister guitars wailing away under the beat of Ken Wilson and Mike Belfield. The songs change tempo, volume and beat within each other and the alternative rockers seem to have endless energy which they express through well rehearsed songs.
Who are Pave The Rocket
From the demise of the band My Little Dog China came the St. Louis Missouri based band Pave The Rocket. Fronted by the brother and sister team of Jason House (guitar and vocals) and Stacey House (guitar) and driven from behind with the solid rhythm foundations of Mike Belfield (bass), and Ken Wilson (drums). They signed with Deep Elm Records for one release and then parted with the label over various issues. They then released a 15 track follow up DIY CD called 3 Different Recordings and disbanded after five years of touring and writing music.
Jason House went on to lead an ambient down-tempo band called Ghost in Light, finding the trio sitting while playing, which later evolved into a 4 piece that erupted into a full fledged hard hitting rock band, Ghost in Light was active from 2005-2008.
In 2010 Jason teamed up with former Pave the Rocket drummer Ken Wilson and Ghost in Light trumpeter, Andy Colligan to start a new band called Loza.

Reviews:
“A bewildering array of textures and tones. Reflective moody passages detonated into exhilarating shards of nervy noise. Intense and emotional without veering into generic angst, adding fresh blows to the US underground armory.” – Kerrang
“Pave The Rocket has the potential to give emo a much needed kick. Taken In is an album of brooding, calculated music with lyrics that expose heart and soul, intensely fueled by forceful guitarwork. The interplay between tender strumming and more ferocious, arm-pumping guitar string abuse is stunning.” – CMJ
“A brilliant release. Taken In’s eleven tracks swerve back and forth between quite, moody passages and daring outbursts with the unpredictability of a drunk driver trying to navigate a mountain road. A ruthless aural assault.” – Exclaim
“Pave The Rocket are the newest contenders to lay claim to the the title of St. Louis’ favorite band. Reminiscent of Sunny Day Real Estate in the way it sets a moody tone and then completely explodes that mood in the face of the audience. Stand back, but not too far…” – Riverfront Times
“Artistically undeniable, full of indie integrity and unsettling to those seeking familiarity, Pave The Rocket receives our instant critical praise…” – Night Times
“Raucous and compelling. Get a jump on Taken In. Pave The Rocket is a band with potential.” – Option
“Pave The Rocket have a static, discordant sound that retains forgotten things like structure and melody. The guitar pyrotechnics are pretty damned cool, but the vocals are even better. The band has more than one sound…they can be harsh, spastic and soothing all at the same time. Unique and intriguing…” – BabySue
“A phenomenal band to keep a careful eye out for. They really don’t let up at all, and their intensity shows.” – Rocket Fuel
