Meretto Live At Bull And Gate London 2002
Proud to present the earliest video recording of the UK band Meretto. This powerful duo came together in 2002 at the fabulous Bull & Gate club in London for an amazing set for the OnlineTV video broadcasts by Rick Siegel. Featuring Matt Burgess and Stu Bell the duo had no problems dealing a strong set filled with energy. The surprising thing is the duo sounds like a full band. As they tested out their newly written material it is plain to see that they are on their way to something great. In fact it is hard to hear that they might be a duo and you have to open your eyes to see that.
Playing the famous Bull and Gate was, for all groups, a launch pad into musics future. A great club to play with a large stage, well lit, large enough for most important groups, and a history spanning decades to musical genius. Today it is just a restaurant pretending to be high end cuisine, but for musics history it will long stand for amazing music you never heard before.
The funny thing is they have a facebook page where they state they started in 2003, which always gives me a giggle when groups actually forget their beginings. But all jokes aside the duo performs amazing on the Bull and Gate stages and we were there to capture it all for you.
You have Matt Burgess, who is not just a pretty face with a great musical talent but also an artist. He did the artwork for the Hardcore metal band Gouge for their cassette cover.
Meretto once had their own website but found it no longer needed as they moved their activities to Facebook and Bandcamp for fans to follow them.
Interestingly the band stays active for decades with a great following and amazing songs for a duo.
