Description
Joker Five Speed Live At Spiral Lounge
Joker Five Speed are a New York rock band, plain and simple but they are not plain or simple – they simply rock the house. See them at this earliest of gigs at the CMJ 1997 live broadcast, a previously unknown recording from the archives at LostConcerts. The show is dynamic and the band tight and on course to flow into the bigger picture.
It all starts out with Tor swinging his leopard skin guitar and wailing the night away. It moves through the set with seamless delights, moving to driving highs, subtle mid strokes, and ultra slam hard core. It was particularly sweet to see all but the drummer harmonizing and doing the backup vocals to Tor’s grip on the set. With a number of great songs on this recording moving from various beats it is a real collector release.
This is the band that made the 5 song demo that got them their next big deal. Apparently Adam Rich and Ricky Schroder left the band and left Tor and Roget to carry the Joker Five Speed to the next level.
Here is your chance to get their earliest incarnation and see the roots of rock and roll today.
Everything you’ve always wanted, a hard working, charmingly handsome, meat and potatoes rock band from the east village who plays the most full throttle, pile driven-est, high powered rock this side of avenue A. http://www.nywaste.com/nyw_main/music/band_jokerFiveSpeed.html
Joker Five Speed has a Facebook page, their personal website long gone. Always very sad to see bands go backwards as they move forwards.
