Description
Horace Goes Skiing Bull and Gate London
A band from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK brought with them a rousing set of great punk rock. They came to play the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town London for the OnlineTV.com Internet live broadcasts and they wailed. Loved the vocals shared with all the players. It was refreshing with plenty of vocal harmonies. But even more interesting was that each of them took parts within the songs as solo vocals, which made it really special.
You will find these guys were on the same label and night at Ultimate Fakebook here at Ricks Music Archives
Who are Horace Goes Skiing
The lineup of Horace Goes Skiing consists of four London natives who go under the names of Martin, Matthew Camidge, Ev, and Duncan. The band use of multi-vocal harmonies, as the three front of house all sing, expanding into a fabulous pop punk sound.
Total pop-punk, comparisons move right along to bands like Hüsker Dü, J-Church, and Samiam brought a lot of attention from several alternative music labels. This resulted in the signing with Pop Kid Records. In 1999.
Horace Goes Skiing released their debut single, Domestic Violence in 1999. This was followed by the 2000 live split single with the Porcelain Boys. Later that same year, Pop Kid put out what would have been the band’s first full-length, Yeah Right Sure, if various studio problems didn’t shorten it to a CDEP. Where that other material is no one really knows. But you may find some of those songs right here.
