Description
Early Edison pop band from Long Island, NY.
Early Edison made a name for themselves thanks to their lush harmonies, catchy tunes, and great showmanship. Most of their shows were done at various CMJ shows and in tandem with Pop Mafia and the crowds went wild for both groups. Each night was a great mix of songs and energy. The ultimate mix of Tom Ashton and Rob Coffin has yet to be beat. There are taster videos of Early Edison for each date.
Early Edison were constant visitors to the Acme Underground and our OnlineTV.com Internet broadcast. Watching these concerts I can say each one has its own flavor and tempo but this band really is tight. The tunes all have a great beat and the lyrics are top grade song writing. There is something there for everyone and if you want to have a good time you went to see this band.
The talent, song writing, singing, guitar work, etc., are top notch and this band really can please most people who love good music. Don’t miss this band.
Early Edison Reviews
Tom Ashton and Rob Coffin formed the high-energy pop outfit Early Edison in the late ’90s with drummer Chris Santiago and bassist Tom Wendling. Having plowed through pockets of the Midwest and East and West Coasts, Early Edison made a name for themselves thanks to their lush harmonies and catchy pop tunes. Their single “Demographically Pleasing” from Devotion & Deceit was chosen as Pop Song of the Year by Newsday in 1997. Three years later they teamed up with Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, They Might Be Giants, Bob Mould) to release their self-titled CD
