Who is Desdemona Finch
Desdemona Finch is a Brooklyn, NY based singer and songwriter who comes by way of London, Washington, D.C. and Nashville.
She landed in the UK back in 1998 as a grad student and started to take her musings somewhat seriously. One her first stops was the legendary 12 Bar Club in London where she did several solo shows, one of which is focused on Rick’s Music Archives. With London’s creative vibe all around her she released an EP “128 Southgate Road” in 1999.
In late 1999 Finch landed in NYC and has since graced the stages of some of the city’s most interesting stages – The Living Room, C-Note, Baby Jupiter, CB’s Gallery and the Sidewalk Cafe, among others but not the Acme Underground nor Spiral Lounge. She went on in 2000 to showcasing at the Philadelphia Music Conference in 2000. Finch has played London’s famous 12-bar club and Kashmir Club as well as Washington, D.C.’s Metro Cafe.
in 2005, she won honorable mention in Hankfest’s Ghostwriter in the Sky songwriter contest with her song – Tainted love and Wilted Roses.
