Celery Live At Spiral Lounge, NYC for OnlineTV
Madness came to our stage at Spiral Lounge in New York City as Celery paid us a rousing visit. Incredible energy and riotous punk rock shook the house when this band came into New York’s lower east side favorite dive.
Who are Celery
Celery was a Maplewood based punk band formed in 1995 by Phil Browne (guitar/vox), Steve Marshall (bass/vox), and Gus Nanos (drums). Brian Klenke joined the band as an additional guitarist, and Nanos was eventually replaced by Barry Peraino.
Celery was a staple of the St. Louis punk scene; the food fights at their live shows were legendary. They were voted “Best Hard Rock Band” by the Riverfront Times in 1998, and came in second only to The Urge that year for “Best Band.” They played their last show on Halloween 1999 at the Galaxy with The Rabies.
