Description
An Intimate Evening With Rachael Sage @ Arlene’s Grocery
The lovely Rachael Sage plays an outstanding set with a full band at Arlene’s Grocery in New York City on Oct 23, 1997. Rachael was particularly alluring and with her great sense of style, amazing choice in band mates, and her absolute grasp on song writing and style. Well, what else can I say?
In a sense words cannot describe the feelings I get when I listen to her works. On one, I have to admit I cried, “Ode To A Sailor.” When talent like this passes in life one must take a moment and listen. In these trying days it is healing to hear her songs, she is truly an inspired and inspiring songwriter.
Who is Rachael Sage
While I still have more concerts of Rachael, this may be the best. I still have a couple more to go, but this one is absolutely amazing and a credit to her talent, the talent around her, and everything. Okay, maybe the lighting could have been better, but that’s rock’n roll at Arlene’s.
You will find 9 songs and watch the Empress as she moves through her show. The whole show at Arlene’s. in a very intimate environment makes it more personal. I had some leeway with the handheld camera to get some things, but it is a single camera shoot and the environment is a small bar (some might call “a dive” specially if you see it in the daytime). But this is one great selection from my LostConcert archives and actually if it were not for the lock down at this time I would never have been saving my archives. Small silver lining in times of horror.
