Description
Camber Live At Spiral Lounge, NYC
Camber present pure indie rock live on stage for CMJ music week in NYC. Smooth, subtle and right on the money the songs are strong and punctuated with an energy rarely seen in the genre. With Barry Lott carrying the vocal leads the band partakes in an abundant display of action and power. Corby Caldwell carrying the lead guitar to new heights with heavy riffs and deep guitar player poses. At times the tinkling of the guitars offset the times where the wall of sound carries onto the front. Chris Chin’s drums keep the pace and lay down a bottom only matched by Joey DellaCroce and his powerful bottom.
Camber was a CMJ Music Festival pick for their first ever festival in New York City and OnlineTV was the only Internet broadcasting video for the events. That makes this rare concert even more rare as there just are not any other archives from those first years of CMJ.
Who are Camber
An aggressive and melodic indie rock band on the Deep Elm label, New York’s Camber was formed in the mid-’90s by vocalist/guitarist Barry Lott, drummer Chris Chin, guitarist Corby Caldwell, and bassist Joey DellaCroce. The quartet’s debut album, Beautiful Charade, was released in 1997.
They took two years to complete the follow-up, 1999’s Anyway, I’ve Been There. Like the debut, it was produced by John Agnello (Burning Airlines, Chavez, Dinosaur Jr.). In 2001, drummer Chin was replaced by Roger Coletti; a year later the band issued Wake Up and Be Happy
Camber was an American emo/post-hardcore band from New York City, recognized for being one of the pioneer of the second-wave Eastern indie emo sound.
Barry Lott – Vocals, Guitar
Chris Chin – Drums
Corby Caldwell Guitarist

The concert is only 29 minutes and was cut off as the tapes ran out. There are also a few squeaks and skips in the ancient video, but it is a good representation of the event.
