Description
Tim Bowness At 12 Bar Club, London With Samuel Smiles
The concert starts at 12 Bar Club, London with a rather impressive improv with Sam Smiles on his sax and the guitarist when Tim Bowness takes the microphone and the bluesy set starts on its first legs. The mix of jazz improv and the magic vocals from Tim make this a concert that certainly will ring many bells for those who love improv. Perhaps a little like Miles Davis on acid? Samuel Smiles picks up the flute, tenor sax, regular sax, and looks like he even has some kind of harmonium. Cant keep up with the man. The results are a nice set of great music that will certainly titillate the imagination.
Who is Tim Bowness
Nocturnal, jazz-tinged melancholy from the eternally downcast Tim Bowness and company. A commenter on a post a while back asked if I could recommend anything in same vein as The Blue Nile, and if they’re reading this now: aside from the lack of synths, this might scratch that itch. Opium Hum
